Today I am going to review a bluetooth speaker this one is a from a company called Edifier small national company established in Beijing, China in May 1996 that initially focused within the China domestic market, in which it is a market leader today selling varies sound products. The speaker is perfect with summer right around the corner and costs about $28.99 USD which is a bargain and you could even spend less with other deals with Free shipping if bought on Amazon, so that’s all you will pay. So not bad for the price and look but how does it perform? That’s what this review intends to show you, so read on….
Product Name: Edifier MP200 Portable IP54 Bluetooth Speaker
Provider: Edifier USA
The packaging, is again another reusable clear box I’m starting to think Edifier doesn’t just make great speakers but puts alot of thought into their retail packaging for their portable speakers. On the bottom a small amount of info about features of the Edifier MP200
This speaker does have two identifying marks on it which is the Edifier logo on the front and the bottom where the tech specs are on the speaker This speaker indeed lives up to the fresh summertime look in my opinion…
The speaker comes with a limited warranty, Instruction manual in Spanish and English as well a charge cable for the micro usb port There is no Aux port or cable so you are stuck with Bluetooth or SD card modes only
On the right of the speaker you will find a place to put the included micro USB cable to charge the speaker as well the Micro-SD card slot. On the top you will also find the power, call ,pause/play, and then on the right side of the speaker forward/backward and volume up/down and there is a blue/red light to show when its in pairing or when the power is on inside the gray speaker grill
This speaker is very easy just turn on your bluetooth setting on your device then turn on the speaker you should see “MP200” if not turn the speaker off then place it into pairing mode by holding down the power button until it flashes red and blue like any other bluetooth speaker or headphones Something to keep a note to yourself is that if you want to pair another device with this or any Edifier speaker you must turn off bluetooth for the first device before pairing the speaker with another device since Edifier speaker seem to auto pair when the devices are nearby and bluetooth is active
I used this speaker for a few months while moving and I found this speaker was terrific for using Pandora/Spotify, watching YouTube videos my tablet and phone and from my Macbook since I was moving and had everything being packed and moved and this speaker with my Spotify helped play a role the sound was just as I expected a Edifier speaker would be coming from a Longtime and BIG FAN of their products a few of my neighbors came over and said we thought we packed away the tech where is that great sounding music coming from then I pointed to the little blue speaker one of my neighbors said “No seriously” I said of course and she couldn’t believe a small speaker could produce such good sound
This speaker is perfect for most ALL budgets, but is it even worth it? I would say yes TOTALLY if you hunting for a bluetooth speaker but with the power of a larger sound system and you won’t break your bank account or your backpack then with other mini speakers bluetooth speakers Something I really liked about this speaker was you can appreciate Bluetooth to its fullest with Bluetooth 4.1. Reach up to a separation of speaker and device of 10 meters and with a IP rating 54 this ensures the speaker is shielded from water splash so it’s safe for use near the shower with the steam.
So in all it’s not bad for a bluetooth speaker,But I think they could fix the problem with having to disconnect your device’s bluetooth just to connect another device to the speaker, The final score averages out to be a 9 out of 10, but that takes into account everything, but as you can see below it the pros out do the cons by a long shot.
